2008 Update:

The photo's above were taken a few years ago to show my overseas friends what my house looks like. Recently my children insisted that I move into their new house with them.

Having lived in it for sixteen happy years, I must confess I miss my lovely home, but I should be glad that my children want me with them. Anyhow, here's some more information that might be of interest to potential buyers, but would only have bored my friends:

  • Size of erf: 450sqm
  • Size of house: 200sqm
  • Security: 24-hour neighbourhood patrol. Conversion to a security suburb has been officially approved and is already in progress. All the electrical cables and stuff are in place for an electronic gate. We just never felt the need to put one up.
  • There's room to build a garage if you want one, though the carports were sufficient for our needs.
  • The study next to the main bedroom has its own entrance, which makes it ideal for a home office.
  • The property is close to all kinds of convenient things like shopping centres, schools, etc.
  • We recently had the whole house painted out.
  • There's a convenient space for a braai area just outside the kitchen. We spent many enjoyable evenings there.
  • If you want the property as an investment, rather than living in it, it could easily be converted into two separate units. Its value will probably escalate dramatically once the area is converted to a secure village, too.
  • I happen to know that a wealthy neighbour has future plans for buying the whole block for commercial development - although vague, this factor might also be of interest to a potential investor.
  • Selling price: R1,400,000 which is a fair price for this area, in my opinion. Slightly negotiable if it's a cash offer.
  • The address is 8b Charbury Road, Lynnwood Manor, Pretoria, South Africa.
